Stop 13 at Haughton

TVs going up a steep-sided canyon in southwestern Haughton

The southwestern part of Haughton is characterized by a maze of steep-sided canyon systems. These canyons typically form due to erosion along fault planes generated during the impact event. The faults are lines of weakness in the rock, which act as sites of preferential erosion, developing into the canyons we see today. In the movie, see scientists on ATVs making the drive up into one of these canyons.
