Dr. Samarasinha obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Colombo, graduating with First Class Honours in 1981. He received his Master’s degree in Astronomy from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1985, and his PhD in 1992. He has been a research mentor for many undergraduates and graduate students.
