Stop 2 at Haughton
You are now inside the Haughton impact structure. In the movie, geologist John Parnell looks at some gray rocks called impact melt breccias. These distinctive rocks were formed during the impact event and would have filled the central portion of the crater to a depth of 200 meters or more. Impact melt breccias will be seen again at some other stops on the tour.
