Stop 10 at Haughton

Hydrothermal sulfide deposits in the breccia hills

Here we see more evidence for hydrothermal activity at Haughton. There’s no selenite here, but instead we see green iron sulfide minerals (orange rust color when weathered) and calcite lining a cavity within the impact melt breccias.
