PSI again participated in the Summer Science Saturday event, held this year on July 20 at the Kuiper Space Science Building on the University of Arizona campus.

PSI Senior Education Specialist Larry Lebofsky was outdoors, offering attendees a view of activity on the Sun’s surface through a filtered telescope. Education Specialist Sanlyn Buxner and Research Assistant Emily Joseph worked the PSI display inside, offering youngsters activities including coloring pictures of the planets and comparing the size of Jupiter and Earth, which resulted in rousing discussions about the size of objects in the Solar System.

Summer Science Saturday, in its second year, attracted 773 attendees.
