Research by PSI’s Vishnu Reddy showed that an asteroid that recently passed near Earth is likely a dead comet. Reddy used observations from the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility in Mauna Kea, Hawai’i to study the spectrum of asteroid 2015 TB145, which passed within 300,000 miles of the Earth on Halloween. The asteroid is 600 meters in diameter.
