PSI Senior Scientist Henry Throop gave a presentation on the Ultima Thule flyby, “NASA’s New Horizons Mission to Pluto, the Kuiper Belt, and Beyond,” to a group in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The event, which took place in the auditorium at Southwest State College, was organized by the Nepal Astronomical Society, and was part of the International Astronomical Union’s 100 Hours of Astronomy celebration. NASO has organized a number of events for this ‘100-hour’ celebration, including lectures and night-sky sessions.
Throop gave his presentation remotely, from Washington D.C., more than 7,500 miles, and several time zones, away from his audience.
