PSI Research Scientist Eric Palmer ran a four-day training class at the University of Tokyo for JAXA/Hayabusa 2 asteroid sample return mission scientists on using the stereo photoclinometry software that was developed by PSI Senior Scientist Bob Gaskell to build shape models.

JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, has a data exchange and support program with the Tucson-based OSIRIS REx mission, on which Palmer is a member of the science team.

Above, Palmer describes how the stereo photoclinometry software works to seminar attendees.

Below, Eric Palmer poses with Hayabusa 2 mission scientists.
