PSI hosted the “Building the NASA Citizen Science Community” conference at the Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort in Tucson. The three-day event, organized by PSI Senior Scientist Paul Hardersen, attracted an international audience of more than 100 people.

PSI scientists offered three of the more than 50 presentations at the conference. Pamela Gay gave a talk titled “Better Engagement through Better Community: Lessons from CosmoQuest,” Candice Hansen spoke on “JunoCam: Citizen scientists populate Juno’s virtual imaging team,” and Eric Palmer discussed “PDS – Planetary Science Data – Where to Find It!”

Eric Palmer talks about how to use the Planetary Data System (PDS), a long-term archive of digital data products returned from NASA’s planetary missions, and from other kinds of flight and ground-based data acquisitions, including laboratory experiments.

The conference attracted more than 100 attendees.
