PSI Senior Education Specialist Larry Lebofsky and Docent David Acklam shared the world of planetary science with students attending Earth Science Day at the Pima Community College Northwest Campus Oct. 16.
Here Lebofsky uses a sample from a PSI Meteorite Kit to discuss how materials from faraway planets, asteroids and other bodies can reach Earth and be found by scientists who do research on the specimens.
More than 40 exhibitors participated – eight were missing due to the government shutdown – at Earth Science Day, which attracted a record 500 attendees, said Denise Meeks, event organizer and Science Department Chair at Pima College.
