PSI Active in NASA’s 2020 International Observe the Moon Night Event

PSI played a big role in NASA’s 2020 International Observe the Moon Night presentation.

Pamela Gay, Senior Education and Communication Specialist and Senior Scientist at PSI, produced the live streamed programming for the six-hour event, which was seen on NASA TV, NASA Facebook, NASA YouTube and NASA Twitch.

Senior Scientist Amanda Hendrix and Research Scientist Ryan Watkins shared their lunar knowledge during a question and answer session, which was moderated by NASA’s Molly Wasser.

Senior Education and Communication Specialist and Senior Scientist Sanlyn Buxner was the event’s Evaluation Lead. About 100,000 people around the world participated in 3,530 registered events, broken up by: 1910 individual observers (54% of total), 737 private events (21% of total) and 883 public events (25% of total). There were about 3,000 on Facebook, 2,000 on YouTube and 63,000 on Twitch watching the live programming.
