PSI Active at Spacefest X Event

PSI’s Bill Hartmann, Jerry Bostick and Chuck Dietrich, and PSI’s Don Davis pose for a photo at Spacefest X. Davis worked on five Apollo missions, and Bostick and Dietrich were Apollo flight controllers who worked with Davis. Hartmann and Davis had just explained to them how the Moon formed, a la the Giant Impact theory they developed.

PSI scientists and educators were active at Spacefest X held at the JW Marriott at Starr Pass resort in Tucson.

PSI’s display featured hands-on activities including a variety of meteorites and space rocks for attendees to study.

PSI participants included Larry Lebofsky, Joe Spitale, Don Davis, and Thea Cañizo. Bill Hartmann showed some of his paintings at the event.

Spacefest offers the public a chance to mingle with astronauts, astronomers, scientists, space artists, historians and authors. Space-related demonstrations, exhibits, lectures and other events are offered.
