Runoff production on early Mars

National Aeronautics and Space Administration Mars Data Analysis Program

PI: Dr. Rossman Irwin. (Smithsonian Institution)

Start Date: 03/25/2022
Project #: 1861
End Date: 08/14/2022
Award #: 22-SUBC-440-0000-472266
Overall Objectives
Dr. Morgan will map valleys, fluvially dissected areas, and non-fluvially dissected areas in six Tyrrhena Terra study areas. He will collect morphometrics, including contributing area, relief,  slope, concavity, and surface integration in the dissected and undissected areas, and assist with writing up the results. Dr. Morgan is a research scientist at the Planetary Science Institute and has a background in quantitative fluvial geomorphology, remote sensing analyses, and planetary surface processes. His past work demonstrates his experience with geomorphic analysis and characterizing the hydrology of ancient fluvial systems on Mars.
