Radiation Hard and High Temperature Tolerant Thermal Imagers in a Sparse Array

Dyar will support a science investigation designed to compare data from the next array to existing spectral data acquired on the same minerals in reflectance and emissivity mode, at ambient and Venus-analog temperatures. She will ensure that samples studied are good Venus analogs and appropriate for investigation of important Venus science questions. In year one, she will gather and prepare Venus-analog mineral and rock samples for analyses, and meet with other project personnel at JPL to understand sample requirements and preparation. In years two and three, she will assist with spectral acquisition and testing, comparing new laboratory data to existing spectra of the same samples.
