Space Camp offered students a fun opportunity to enjoy hands-on scientific activities. The five-day event, which took place at Children’s Museum Tucson, was attended by third and fourth graders.
PSI’s Sanlyn Buxner and Macey Brown spent one day at Space Camp teaching the kids about planetary science. The youngsters made comet models out of dry ice and other ingredients, and used PSI’s meteorite kits that let them touch items from space.
The event’s theme was Space: planets, comets, and the Solar System. This was the seventh Space Camp held at Children’s Museum Tucson. It was funded by a NASA ROSES grant.
