While rain and cloudy skies prevented any outdoor lunar observing, the 2014 International Observe the Moon Night still attracted 150 people to the University of Arizona’s Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium Sept. 6 for Moon-related activities and planetarium shows.
The local event, organized by the Planetary Science Institute, featured hands-on activities presented by PSI, the UA student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, UA Lunar and Planetary Lab staff and graduate students, National Optical Astronomy Observatory, the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association and community volunteers.
