Research Interests

Laura is a Geoscience PhD student at UMass Amherst specializing in structural geology and fault mechanics. Her work with the Planetary Science Insitute focuses on surface mapping of Venus. At UMass she works on numerical simulations of fault growth and rock deformation. She has previously worked on simulations of crustal deformation around the souther San Andreas fault system in California. 

Professional History

Laura completed a BS in Environmental Science with minors in Geology and Physics from SUNY Albany in 2009. She earned an MS in Geoscience from UMass Amherst in 2014, and began a PhD at UMass Amherst in 2017.
