Dan Berman Personal/Professional Page


I am a Senior Scientist with the Planetary Geosciences Group at the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Arizona, where I study the geology of the planet Mars.

 

I received my Master of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Arizona in December 2003, under the direction of Dr. Victor R. Baker. My thesis was entitled "Hillside gullies and possible glacial landforms associated with the degradation of highland craters on Mars".

 

I  graduated from the University of Michigan in May 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics.

 

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Planetary geology, fluvial and glacial geomorphology, photogeologic interpretation and image processing, geologic mapping, chronologic interpretations via crater counting, and crater evolution based on morphologies and degradational states.
