Project Description

The New Horizons mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt was launched from the Kennedy Space Center on Thursday, 19 January 2006 and completed a successful fly-by of Pluto in July 2015. The first Kuiper belt Extended Mission (KEM/KEM 1) phase completed a successful fly-by of a Kuiper Belt Object on January 1, 2019. The KEMl + proposal has subsequently extended this extended mission. As PI of the Ralph Instrument Dr. Howett will support the Ralph instrument as required by including but not limited to: participating in New Horizons meetings, developing and maintain software as needed to analyze science data from New Horizons and performing science analysis.
