Project Description

Purpose

The proposed research for the Space4 Center has two main objectives:

1. To conduct spectral characterization of artificial objects in Earth orbit and cislunar space using ground-based telescopes.
2. To conduct spectral characterization of artificial space materials in the laboratory over the UV-visible-mid-IR wavelengths.

Scope

As part of the proposed activities, Co-I Sanchez will help with the data reduction pipelines and analysis tools of the telescopic data. Co-I Sanchez will also be in charge of sample preparation, acquisition of laboratory spectral measurements, analysis and interpretation of laboratory spectra. In addition, Co-I Sanchez will also help in proposal writing and manuscript preparation.

Deliverables

The following list of products is the expected deliverables from Co-I Sanchez as part of this proposed effort.

1. Reduced spectra of telescopic spectral observations of artificial objects.
2. Reduced spectra of laboratory spectral measurements of artificial materials.
3. Data reduction pipelines/analysis tools.
4. Peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, observing proposals.
