Doing the Math NOTE: "Solar System Research" includes Research and Analysis Programs, Data Analysis Programs, and Technology programs. Even the NASA Planetary Data System is being substantially reduced at a time when the volume and diversity of of mission data is exploding. The math: $363M (original FY2006) is reduced this year to $327M (10% cut) and in FY07 is further reduced to $278M (additional 16% cut for a total of 25%). The 25% is considered a minimum because Griffin refers to a "15%" cut in FY06, 5% more than is reflected in the spreadsheet.
