"Early Results from Spitzer Space Telescope"

John Stansberry

The Spitzer Space Telescope (formerly SIRTF) was launched August 25, 2003 from Cape Canaveral. After a 90 day in-orbit checkout period, several large Solar storms, two instrument suspends, and a spacecraft safing event, Spitzer is beginning to provide a look at the infrared universe in the 3 - 160 micron region at a sensitivity and spatial resolution far better than anything that has gone before. I'll present still-fresh early results from the three instruments, focusing on Solar System observations, and throwing in some debris disk results for good measure.
