"Martian meteorites and secondary craters on Mars"
Natalia Artemieva
Numerical modeling of impact cratering allow us to reproduce ejection of high-velocity molten or solid material and its final distribution on the surface. The values of shock compression, burial depth and maximum temperature obtained in the modeling are in agreement with geochemical, geophysical, and petrological data for the SNC meteorites. The existing proportion between Martian/Lunar meteorites may be explained by the efficiency of ejection/delivery process from Mars and from the Moon. A lot of small craters on Mars may be of a secondary origin.
