Searching for Meteorites in Antarctica, or What I did on my Christmas Vacation

Les Bleamaster

(Planetary Science Institute)

During the cold winter months of the northern hemisphere (perhaps Tucson and San Antonio excluded), I traveled to the southernmost point on Earth and spent 7 weeks searching for meteorites with ANSMET (Antarctic Search for Meteorites). I will give a little background about the program and share my experience during a short slide show.
