From Mapping the Moon to Managing Merlot: Diverse Applications of Imaging Spectroscopy

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Advances in imaging spectroscopy have impacted both planetary science and broader uses of remote sensing data.  Matt will describe two very different uses of imaging spectrometers based on his work as a Co-I on NASA’s Moon Mineralogy Mapper as well as his current efforts to implement a hyperspectral system for agricultural applications.  In both cases, push-broom imaging spectrometers are significantly improving the information that can be measured remotely when compared to previously available data.
