Impact Cratering on Porous Asteroids

Recent spacecraft and telescopic observations indicate that porous structures may be common among the population of small asteroids. High porosity can affect the impact evolution of these bodies in significant and interesting ways, such as producing craters without ejecta blankets. Recent impact experiments in highly porous targets will be discussed, as well as the implications for cratering on porous bodies.
