Educational Resources
Mission EPO sites
Curriculum materials
- Digital Library for Earth System Education - DLESE
This is a large, meta-site funded by the NSF. It is a library and
clearinghouse of digital education resources in all Earth system science,
including planetary.
- The Space Science Education Resource Directory - SSERD
The first stop for NASA education resources; reviewed by educators and
scientists. Materials from all space science mission EPO programs are
directed to this site, including planetary science. Funded by NASA.
- The Gateway - Gateway to Educational Materials - GEM
This is not a science-specific site, but it is so large that it contains a number
of good resources for teachers of earth and space sciences. Funded by the
National Educators Association.
- Digital Resources for Astronomy and Physics Education - comPADRE
This is another digital resource reservoir, mostly turned towards physics, but
with certain targeted general astronomy resources. NSF Funded.
- USGS Astrogeology - Kid's Program
Small, but there are some fun things to do here.
- The Astronomical Society of the Pacific - ASP
The ASP is positioning itself as a leader in Space Science EPO professional
development. Their materials cover a wide range of interests, and the site
has links to a very large number of astronomy, planetary, and space science
education resources.
