      Data Set Overview

      This data set is intended to include all published spectra of the       
      asteroids (243) Ida and (951) Gaspra.  These have been gathered from    
      existing PDS data sets archive data sets. Four spectra of Gaspra and    
      two of Ida are included.  The 24-Color Survey spectrum of 243 Ida has   
      not been included in this collection, since for practical purposes the  
      24-color survey has been superseded by subsequent surveys such as ECAS  
      and SMASS. The full 24-Color Survey is available in the PDS main        
      archive.
