June, 2007 This was main reason for the trip to Australia. I had some telescope time on Mopra, a mm wavelength telescope. While the telescope is near Coonabarrabran, the controls are in Narrabri, which are connected to the telescope via a high-speed connection. Narrbri is the location for the compact array telescope, and also for the lodging for the astronomers. Erikand I went down to actually visit Mopra in person. Arial gets into the mood for visiting the telescope bydressing up. This is where Mopra is controlled from. Just under the Mopra dish, there's all sorts of interestinglights and buttons.The view of sunrise from the entrance to the observers building.
