Cave Creek
October, 2004 Last year we were camping on top of the Chiricahua mountains and saw this awesome rocky range just to the east. Initially I thought it must be the National Monument until it was apparent that it was in the wrong direction. Looking up the map later revealed that this was a place called Cave Creek. Recently Yen signed up for a GABA ride through Cave Creek. Someone had to drive her out there, might as well go and take the opportunity to check out Cave Creek close up as well eh. Oh, and take Kiera with me. While Yen stayed in the cabins in the research station, Kiera and I camped up the road and did some exploring.
A panorama to the west from the middle of Cave Creek Canyon.
Lookinggood so far.
Yen onher way back to Roadforks.
A rocky part of the creek going up towards Crystal Cave.
Hiking for a couple of hours, climbed up to 8000 ft.
This is my ulterior motive for the trip.
