November, 2002 The local tradition is to sit around this weekend and have a big dinner with all the family. We kept to the Australian tradition of using any long weekend as an opportunity to go holiday. Our objective for the weekend was the caves at Carlsbad. Guadalupe Park was nearby and a chance to climb to the top of another state. Yen was starting to get a little big with the baby at this time so we were a little slower, lots of toilet stops everywhere we went.A view of the sunrise from the campground at Guadalupe Park.Guadalupe Peak is the highest point of the state of Texas. Statictites seen along the trail thatyou can take into the heart of Carlsbad Caverns. I'msure this formation had a name but I can't remember it now.Carlsbad is a great place to play with a cameraunderground.
