April, 2002 Puerto Penasco (or Rocky Point) is invaded by gringos every weekend. It is the closest beach for several million Arizonans who collectively own about half or this Mexican seaside town.
Once a year there is a triathlon held down at Rocky Point, which I entered with the Tricats. Great excuse to go to the beach; I hadn't been for nearly two years.This was the latest start I have ever seen for a triathlon.Running out of the water after the swimming leg of the triathlon.Swim was about 1.5 km; nice distance.
