April, 2002 This semester LPL went to the coast of southern California to check out various beach processes. Best excuse for a field trip that I ever heard. Being an Australian who hasn't been able to play in the surf for 2 years, this trip was a God-send. Other than play in the surf, we did get to see places where oil oozes out of the ground, beaches in the middle of the desert (with no water for miles) and lots of California traffic.Lunch in traditional style on an LPL field trip.Campsite from the first night of the field trip.
